Hi All

Here's my Jan 2010 gigs: hitting the warmer and colder climates: St Augustine in Florida where I'll be playing in the town where I wrote Island on a borrowed guitar and on a diet of toffee apples and red wine. It's become a home from home and much of what you've heard from me has been thought about and some of written while I've been there each year, cycling about like a Scottish Worzel Gummige in the U.S. I'm going to see Midlake who are performing in the same venue a week or so before me, love them.

Then returning to Glasgow and to the Celtic Connections Festival – that'll be a good finale to Island and you can expect a few extras happening on the night. Music, words and thereafter liver recuperation. Maybe I'll even have a fancy tan and a hair cut for that one..

Other updates copied below are my contribution to a BBC Radio 4 Afternoon Play, and also a note to say that all my released material (Colin + MHS) is now on Spotify – enjoy!

Right now I'm demoing at home for the new lot of songs, expected for 2010. Really loving getting all my ideas collected this year finally documented and coming back at me out the headphones. About 20 songs are recorded and I'll fill out the words and sing them while away over the holiday season. Got a fair bit of writing to do too also, I think I've found a good character..

BBC Radio 4 Afternoon Play: 'Zero Degrees Of Separation' – On Monday 7th December at 2.15pm BBC Radio 4 will be broadcasting 3 afternoon plays with a common theme of Law + Order, one of which Colin has contributed towards with fellow island writers and was recorded on the Isle of Mull. The others were recorded in London and Ballycastle, Ireland.
