MHS Match-making:

Now spring has sprung, I leave you on a romantic note: two MHS fans in Austin, Texas, met on a dating site 5 years ago because they each registered MHS as one of the things they liked (I was relieved they were humans and not sheep). And well, fast-forward to now and they got very happily married on April 8th — the album release day (and my birthday) — and have shared their brilliant story on Facebook: congrats to Reneau & Nick!

23rd May   —  Waterstones, Byres Road, Glasgow: ‘An Evening with Colin MacIntyre’ (There are no advance tickets, anyone can just turn up)

Join Colin for an evening of conversation about his Edinburgh Book Festival award-winning debut novel ‘The Letters of Ivor Punch’ — a gloriously heartfelt and funny novel set on a remote Hebridean island. Colin will also be strumming in an intimate setting some songs from his newly released (seventh) Mull Historical Society album, ‘Dear Satellite’. Through both music and the written word, Colin is a natural storyteller.

7th June     —  SohoCreate Festival, The Dome, Soho Square, London: Jumping over the edge – What does it feel like when it works? Critics’ Circle Award winning actor and writer Phoebe Waller-Bridge, recently seen as Lulu in her screen-writing debut ‘ rashing’ (Channel 4), will be in conversation with Dennis Kelly and Colin MacIntyre. Kelly wrote his first play at 30 and has since written over 20 more including Matilda the Musical with Tim Minchin. MacIntyre, who as well as a having a successful recording career under his own name and the Mull Historical Society, has lept off the edge recently by writing his Edinburgh Book Festival award-winning debut novel. Together they will discuss what drives them to continue to create new work, take different directions and leap into the void. Info & TICKETS
