Colin MacIntyre – also known as Mull Historical Society – has earned on-going critical acclaim for his six albums to date and now signs a landmark publishing deal with BMG MUSIC PUBLISHING/XTRA MILE MUSIC. It is the first signing to the respected independent record label Xtra Mile Recordings’ new publishing arm Xtra Mile Music, who have signed a joint venture deal with BMG MUSIC.

A multi-instrumentalist, programmer, songwriter, producer, and now debut novelist, MacIntyre has achieved two top-twenty chart albums and four top-forty chart singles. His debut, ‘Loss’ went Gold and has been widely hailed as one of the best British albums of that year. BMG are an international music publisher, with a rich musical heritage.

The deal includes not only all future recordings but his entire critically acclaimed back catalogue spanning 15 years, a new MHS album, and it also includes the debut album of INK, MacIntyre’s exciting new electro-pop project, of which The Guardian has said: “Perfect without being too box-ticking – going to be massive.”

MacIntyre says, ‘I am delighted to be part of the BMG family and to be Xtra Mile Music’s first signing. It is very exciting what Charlie and the Xtra Mile team are doing and I am thrilled to be a part of the journey with Charlie and Hugo; and doubly exited that all my material is together under one such fine roof.’

Speaking on the partnership with BMG, Charlie Caplowe, Managing Director of Xtra Mile Recordings and now Xtra Mile Music says: “Very chuffed to be building another level in our relationship with Colin and to have the support and back up of the amazing BMG set up, we all feel very optimistic about this new venture.” MacIntyre and Caplowe will be working closely with Hugo Turquet – Vice President A & R for BMG UK.

To mark the fifteenth anniversary of the debut MHS single ‘Barcode Bypass’, MacIntyre recently released his ‘Best Of’ compilation album on Xtra Mile Recordings, which collated material from all MacIntyre’s albums to date and is also available on a special double-vinyl.
