Hi All,

Most of you on here will know me as Mull Historical Society, but I wanted to pass on the news that I've been secretly developing another project, called INK and am excited to now share the music!

It has been inspired by art, books, some music – the usual things – and I have been collaborating with other singers, musicians and visual artists. It is produced by the Blue Peter Badge and Grammy-winning Dom Morley (Amy Winehouse's 'Back To Black')

I haven't shared my identity on it so far because I wanted the music to speak for itself first. There have been two singles so far, here are the videos:

Ever wondered what happened to the 'Watching Xanadu' bunny?

New single 'Control' is out 9th June in UK, 10th June US & Canada – you can pre-order or listen to other tracks at the INK site, and join up on Twitter and Facebook. The single gets its first play this Sunday 27th April from 2pm on Jim Gellatly's Amazing Radio Show.

London shows in June to be announced soon on the site – please come down if you're in town! And more soon…

So, welcome to INK. This comes off the back of the recent news about my debut novel being published by W&N next year. More info copied below.

Mull Historical Society continues as always and this site has also had a bit of new paint on it with new features. Thanks to Mark Fraser for all the online spring cleaning.

INK - RELEASE NEW SINGLE ‘CONTROL' –  out 9th June in UK / 10th June US & Canada

INK (all upper case) is the brainchild of Colin MacIntyre, the award-winning singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, author and producer, who has released 6 albums to date internationally, most notably under the moniker Mull Historical Society, achieving two UK Top-20 chart albums and four Top-40 singles, and tours with The Strokes, REM and ElbowINK is MacIntyre’s new collaboration with other singers, musicians and visual artists, as well as Grammy-winning producer, Dom Morley(Amy Winehouse’s "Back To Black"). MacIntyre’s INK arrived as if fully formed and first wowed the blogs last year, teasing with a combination of style, intrigue and exciting music and visuals. The infectious debut single ‘Ink Goes On’ was released to wide acclaim on both sides of the Atlantic via Washington's ATG Records. Second single ‘Try What You Don't Know’, an urban tale inspired by Romeo & Juliet, was another melodic gem of top-line hooks underpinned with lashings of punchy beats. Now new single ‘Control’ represents another watershed INK moment, about which The Guardian sayThe lyric-hook is memorable – "Have you ever seen me lose control?" Slick technoid R&B pop, with a finger-clicking bassline – cool and brilliant.” It will be released on Future Gods Recordings on 9th June. INK have already received support from BBC Radio 16Music, BBC London, Amazing Radio, and WFUV, Neon Gold and KCRW among others in the U.S., having broken into the Hype Machine's Top- 20. MacIntyre's debut novel The Letters Of Ivor Punch is to be published by Weidenfeld & Nicolson/Orion in Spring 2015.
